Fortnite Introduces Iconic Mortal Kombat Easter Egg

Recently, a sneaky Easter Egg related to Mortal Kombat briefly made its way into Fortnite, and it certainly caught the attention of players everywhere. This image was of Dan Forden, a former sound programmer at Midway and a beloved Easter Egg in Mortal Kombat 2. In the original game, Forden’s brief appearances accompanied uppercuts and were crowned with his exclamation “Toasty!” Fortnite’s homage doesn’t feature any audio, but it definitely tickled the nostalgia of many.

The appearance of this cheeky nod grows even more interesting given that “Toasty” doubles as the name of Scorpion’s Fatality.
