Okay, so Samsung might just be gearing up for a big U.S. reveal. I mean, who doesn’t love a good trade drama, right? Trump hinted at this when chatting about deals with South Korea. It’s like everyone’s playing this big game of economic chess or something.
So, Samsung, it seems, might be the next to drop a giant investment bomb in the States. Apparently, Trump’s team is deep into deal-making mode with countries like India, Japan, and, yep, South Korea. Like, have you noticed how every time we blink, another company plans some billion-dollar venture in the U.S.? Apple, SoftBank—you name it—everyone’s on board. Now, The Korea Herald says Samsung’s up next.
And there’s this thing Trump said:
“They’re gonna build massive facilities here in the U.S. – just ’cause of the tariffs. Without tariffs, nada.”
Or something like that, paraphrasing here.
Samsung’s plan? Drop some heavy cash into places like Austin and Texas (those are cities, folks…sorta). Imagine 10,000 jobs sprouting up. And there’s a thing in Taylor, Texas, supposed to be spitting out tech like 2nm nodes by 2027 or something. Apparently, NVIDIA’s biting at the bit for those.
Oh, hey, look at this pic! Kind of wild how Samsung’s doubling the Taylor campus size thanks to the CHIPS Act, although they had to trim plans by $8B ’cause, you know, economy stuff.
Anyway, Samsung’s thinking of moving appliance and TV production elsewhere, or at least that’s what they slip into their earnings reports. A tariff deal could definitely smooth things over. So maybe we’ll hear more once Trump hashes out his trade thing with South Korea, maybe even next week! Or maybe not. Who knows?
