Hey, so guess what? Bigscreen finally kicked off shipping their fancy new VR headset, Beyond 2. I know, I know, kinda wild, right? They had this hiccup with production delays, but now they’re cranking out those headsets like nobody’s business. But hold up, lemme backtrack. They’re actually drowning in pre-orders, which means the whole shipping deal is gonna be stretched out until—wait for it—August! Maybe longer. Yeah, patience is a virtue, or something.
If you put in an order now, expect to see it around August or September. The backlog is real, folks. They wanna clear it by September, but we’ll see how that goes. Oh, and there are two versions up for grabs: Beyond 2 and Beyond 2e. The “e” one has eye-tracking—pretty neat if you ask me. Price tags? You’re lookin’ at $1,019 for the standard and $1,219 for the eye-happy version. No joke.
Now, apparently, this Beyond 2 thing is like a hot cake. Seriously. When they opened up for pre-orders in March, they sold more in 24 hours than the first four months of the original Beyond. Imagine that. Fast forward a bit, and they sold more units in 11 days than they did in the entire first year of Beyond 1. This made them ramp up production in L.A., hiring a bunch of folks, and even sending engineers overseas. Pretty intense, huh?
Oh, quick sidebar—if you ordered those Custom-Fit Cushions by May 7th, they’re supposed to ship by mid-August. And if you’re hyped for a Halo Mount, hold onto your seats because those won’t ship till late September or maybe October. Delays, amirite?
Also, if you were still waiting on a Beyond 1 (big oof), they’re skipping you straight to a Beyond 2. Talk about an upgrade! They said everyone’s unit should be out by the end of July. Fingers crossed.
And get this—they promised the price wouldn’t jump despite those tricky tariffs hitting up goods from China. Nice little solid from Bigscreen there. Anyway, there’s the scoop. Who knew shipping updates could be this chaotic?
