Whoa, where do I even start? Okay, so Decemberborn Interactive popped up with some news that’ll make any Switch fan (including me, maybe) curious. They’ve got this thing cooking called Cathedral: Crow’s Curse. It’s like a little sibling to the original Cathedral, but more like the rogue cousin who shows up unexpectedly, you know? Anyway, Crow’s the main gal—or guy—honestly, I’m not sure—back again to poke around in some creepy forest where things are all out of whack.
So, the gig is that Crow, this Shade Sentinel (sounds fancy, right?), has to dive into these cursed woods. The whole place probably smells like damp moss and regret. And there’s this thing about forgotten ruins. Ruins are always part of these stories—always. Crow’s on a quest to uncover the roots of something related to the Sentinel order. Sounds mysterious. Or clichéd. Maybe both.
And the combat? They’re saying it’s all quick and skill-based. No button mashing allowed, I guess. You gotta keep an eye on enemy moves, like you’re part ninja, part detective. It’s about timing, dodging, stealth—yes, being sneaky’s key here. Ambush from the shadows or, you know, just tiptoe around. I’m picturing my last attempt at a stealth game where I ended up running into walls more than sneaking.
Eric Lavesson, some big shot at Decemberborn—CTO, I hear—mentioned they’re super into making games folks will dig. He’s practically shouting how much they love Cathedral’s world. I mean, without the shouting. But you get it. Passion. That’s what they’re selling.
And there’s this nod to the game being all seamless and handcrafted. Fancy words for “we spent a lot of time making this look good.” Upgrades and abilities are up for grabs too. Not that I’m counting, but who doesn’t love a good power-up to make your 2D self feel superior?
Alright, so no hard date on when this beauty hits the digital shelves just yet. Only know it’s coming to Switch worldwide. One day, soon-ish, I hope.
Oh, and they teased a trailer. I’m guessing it has spooky music and dramatic voice-overs—I didn’t watch it yet. Maybe I’ll do that now… or later.
Anyway—there you go. Cathedral: Crow’s Curse—keep an eye out if you’re into that sorta thing. Who knows, maybe it’ll become your new obsession. Or mine. Time will tell.
