Oh, so this happened: NWS2U.com, which, if you didn’t know, was like the mecca for getting, uh, totally unauthorized Switch games, just got zapped by U.S. authorities. I mean, this place was THE hangout for gamers who prefer not to lighten their wallets. And today, instead of seeing the usual buffet of games, you get a rather stern greeting from the DOJ and FBI. Fun times, right?
Anyway, this page now shows off the logos of these guys, plus the Dutch Fiscal Information and Investigation Service — FIOD, if you’re into acronyms. The message? Well, it reads like classic law enforcement lingo, basically saying, “We’ve nabbed this domain under a federal warrant.” So, yeah, anyone looking to snag some freebie ROMs for their tricked-out Switches or emulators now has to dig a bit deeper.
And here comes Nintendo with their iron grip on their stuff. They’re kinda famous for their no-nonsense attitude in this area. Seriously, they’re even blocking Mig Flash users who, let’s face it, are just trying to enjoy what they already sorta own. And third-party USB-C hubs — those things? Nope, not touching the fancy new Switch 2 unless they’re the blessed Dock or the Antank whatever, which might not even survive the next firmware update. See, Brazil noticed all this and is like, “Hang on, let’s talk about this whole EULA thing.” But, hey, Nintendo can be merciful if you can prove some hacker tricked you or whatever.
Right, on to less serious issues — the Switch 2. It’s been flying off the shelves, probably outstripping its older sibling in sales by a fair bit. People love those exclusive games, even though the system isn’t exactly beefcake like those hefty x86 giants, the Steam Deck and ROG Ally X. Yet, it’s still a dream gadget for many.
Oh, and by the way, if you want to keep up with techy stuff, Tom’s Hardware is a good place. Hit the follow button there and you won’t miss their latest scoops.
