I’m gonna dive right in — so, Borderlands 4, right? They’re shaking things up with this open-world vibe. But, hold up, they’re not just going wild with new stuff. Gearbox also decided to give the loot system a bit of a makeover. It’s like they sat down, took a deep breath, and went, “Okay, let’s make this loot thing less of a free-for-all.” Remember when you’d trip over a dozen Legendary guns every time you played Borderlands 3? Yeah, kiss those days goodbye ’cause they’re dialing back on those shiny orange drops. A little nostalgia trip back to the older games, if you will.
Now, if you’re like me and depend on those Legendary drops to feel like a badass, you might have to work a bit harder. Raid bosses are making a comeback as your go-to for that sweet loot. And Golden Keys? They’re about to be the hot gossip again. I mean, there’s this content creator, Ki11er Six (yeah, epic name, right?), who got his hands on some beta footage, and apparently, these Golden Chests are still a goldmine — pun intended, I guess.
Oh, and let’s not forget the adorably annoying Chubbies. You gotta love those little guys, but trust me, don’t get all caught up in their cuteness. They’re like, “Hey, I’ll vanish if you don’t shoot me fast enough!” And they eat all sorts of gear, so when you finally take one down, boom — Lootsplosion! You almost feel bad shooting them. Almost. Anyway — wait, where was I? Oh, Chubbies! So, if these cuddly loot bags are making a return, I’m hoping Gearbox amps them up a bit. A multi-Chubby spawn sounds hilariously chaotic, don’t you think?
Honestly, if it were up to me, I’d love to see them in all shapes and sizes — imagine a Chubby Guardian! And hey, if they no-show, well, at least we’ve got Unreal Engine 5, which would make them look even more adorable. That’s my two cents on the whole Borderlands 4 thing. Crossing my fingers till the game drops in September.
