Okay, so here’s the thing—Electronic Arts, you know, the big shot in the gaming world, well, they’re pulling the plug on Anthem. Yep, come January 12th, 2026, it’s going dark. Kinda wild, right? I mean, not like anyone really saw Anthem hitting it big after that whole rocky start. Poor BioWare, they swung for the fences and, uh, let’s just say, they didn’t quite knock it outta the park.
Anyway, if you’ve got some of that shiny in-game currency, it’s not like they’re snatching it away. You just can’t buy any more. Classic move, right? “Thanks for sticking with us,” they say. Heartfelt and all. But you have to wonder, what’s next for the folks who poured heart and soul into this project? EA’s like, “No layoffs!” But who knows what the future holds?
Back when it launched in early 2019—man, it was supposed to be this epic thing. But then, I guess it kinda fizzled. Like, did you hear about that crazy development saga? Not-so-fun times. They even tried fixing it with this Anthem Next version thingy, but nope, that got the boot too. Go figure.
Anyway, it always circles back to—what happened? Maybe they’ll turn it around with something new. Or maybe not. Honestly, who knows?
