So, here’s the scoop. Theia Games has this new thing, STARVAULT, right? Basically, a VR multiplayer battle arena. They’ve thrown it into open beta on Quest, and it’s giving the whole MOBA scene a spin with virtual reality. I mean, it looks like your typical five-on-five setup — you pick one of these nine heroes, each with their own quirky tools and vibes. It screams classic MOBA stuff: smash enemy lanes, take down those pesky towers, and snag strongholds. Pretty much, you’re working your way through with some serious strategy.
Oh, and if farming creeps is your thing, well, you’re in luck. You know the drill — clear out camps, gun for experience points, stack up credits to unlock what you need, and snag artifacts to boost yourself next round. That’s all part of the grind.
But get this, picture tossing in a first-person view with VR headgear. Boom! Now it’s got this sort of HALO-like shooting action. I mean, who doesn’t love portals and jump pads going wild across the map? I wonder if they still have those funny gravity lifts…
Anyway — wait, no — back to the game. Theia Games says this is just the start, an “early stage of development,” they call it, yet the kicker is, it’s free. No microtransactions lurking about for now. Kind of refreshing, to be honest.
They’re gunning to shove STARVAULT into Early Access by Summer 2025. That’s when they’ll start pouring out new heroes, hammering out game balance, and making it all shiny and nice. Oh, and they’ve promised “ethical monetization.” Almost sounds like they’re trying to keep the peace with cosmetic stuff and battle passes, not that pay-to-win nonsense everybody hates.
Full launch? They say early 2026. And it’ll bring even more heroes and all sorts of new content. Regular updates, too. Pretty ambitious if they’re aiming for VR esport status, don’t you think?
Right now, you can dive into STARVAULT for free on Quest 2 and up. So, if you’ve got the gear, why not check it out? Who knows, you might end up loving it — or at least get lost in another epic portal jump.
