Let’s talk Baldur’s Gate 3’s Patch 8… or not, because really, Patch 8 was the last hefty update, and now it’s these hotfixes smoothing out wrinkles. Like, Hotfix 31 just dropped. You ever read those patch notes? Surprisingly light, unlike the brain-melting novels full updates usually are. But, uh, can we chat about photo mode’s tweak for a sec? Not entirely thrilled with it.
Oh, and there’s a link floating around with the full notes for Hotfix 31, if you’re into that sort of thing. Personally, I got a kick out of their mention about this visual glitch they fixed. Imagine your screen turning into a “kaleidoscope of colors” – yup, like a trippy Aurora Badrealis whenever you teleport via a waypoint. High-saturation madness, right?
And, can I just mention? They pulled some leftover dialogue from Minthara’s scenes. Apparently, she was talking about a daughter that never made the cut in the final game. Weird, right? Makes you wonder how that just sneaks in.
So, subclasses in Patch 8. Larian’s been busy squashing bugs there too, like the one where a sneak attack triggers when you use Dirty Trick: Sand Toss. And another sneaky bug with Shadow Blade losing its mojo if concentration slipped. Bugs are pesky, eh?
By the way, and here’s a head-scratcher, Larian’s tweaked photo mode for wild-shaped critters. Boars and cats weren’t acknowledging the ‘Look at Camera’ feature. Larian, come on, cats ignoring the camera is like 90% of owning a cat – even in game form. Seriously, you meddled with nature in a world filled with magic and mind-bending tentacle creatures. What gives?
What about you and your feline friend? Is your cat dodging the lens while you desperately try to capture its gaze? Share your thoughts below, and let’s all sit tight and see what madness Larian conjures up next.
