A bit ago, FromSoftware chimed in about Elden Ring Nightreign’s launch. Mostly folks liked it, so they promised us some fancy stuff: a duos mode (sounds fun, right?) and something cryptically titled “enhanced fights against existing Nightlords.” Got goosebumps yet?
Now, you’d think they’d be predictable with rollouts, but, nah. Waiting on Duo Expeditions, and — surpriseee — suddenly, we’ve got the “enhanced” part popping up. Like, without a single official peep. I log off, thinking I covered everything that day and bam — real news sneaks in.
Late yesterday, the game community buzzed about these beefed-up baddies showing up. FromSoft casually dropped on their blog that these beefed-up foes are called Everdark Sovereigns. Sound intimidating? They’re meant to be. Just nastier versions of the usual suspects, the Nightlords.
So, here’s the catch: each week a new Everdark Sovereign shows up, but only if you’ve already beaten the wimpy original. Right now, it’s Gaping Jaws (Adel) — talk about a dramatic name — but Sentient Pest’s on the roster next week, with Darkdrift Knight after that.
There’s more cooking in FromSoft’s kitchen too — other Sovereigns are in the making. Think Tricephalos, Augur, and a beast something-or-other coming soon. Get Gaping Jaws while it’s hot, available till, uh, June 25, I think.
Oh, and guess what? A nifty NPC popped in — like, extra NPC. This one’s all about trading Sovereign Sigils earned from whupping these Sovereigns in return for shiny Relics and goodies. First-time-handed whooping? Extra sigils, hooray! Also, this NPC lets you mess with Nightreign’s map events. Less work, more play. Thank them for the easier map shenanigans — fewer Nightlords to beat before you see changes.
Probably, as players get their hands dirtier with these boss fights, they’ll find out more cool stuff. By the way, if you haven’t nailed all the Nightlords, there’s some guide around — weakness tips galore and all that. So, have at it. Fingers crossed you pummel those bosses. Need anything else in the Elden Ring Nightreign world? There’s always a guide to steer you right.
