XSEED Games, out of nowhere, casually dropped news about Milano’s Odd Job Collection hitting the Nintendo Switch. I mean, it’s about time, right? They’re working with these folks called Implicit Conversions to get this PlayStation gem from way back when into our hands again — and I, for one, didn’t see that coming.
So, here’s the setup: 11-year-old Milano’s school is done for the summer, and her mum’s in the hospital. Not the best start to a break, honestly. Anyway, Milano ends up dumped at her uncle’s, who — plot twist — heads on vacation. Just poof, gone. At this point, I’d probably just binge-watch something, but Milano? Nope. She goes full entrepreneurial, picking up every odd job around for the next 40 days — from flipping pizzas to, get this, milking flying cows. Yeah, seriously.
And the game got a fancy glow-up. They’ve added all these modern perks like you can finally hit “rewind” on your mistakes. And for once, they cared enough to give us English text and voices. You’re welcome, world. Oh! But they didn’t forget the purists — you can stick to Japanese if the mood strikes.
Anyway, Milano’s got her own little adventure going. At heart, it’s all about balancing work and play. Style up the place, chill with a cat, or just gaze at stars — y’know, normal summer stuff we all do. And no, it’s totally not work if you love it — four pizzas in, who wouldn’t, right? There are like eight mini-games too, if variety’s your thing.
We can relive this hustling-as-a-kid nostalgia hit sometime in 2025 on the Nintendo eShop. So, yeah, set a reminder. Or don’t. I’ll probably forget if I don’t write it down.
