Okay, so here’s the deal with the Resident Evil Requiem thing that popped up during June’s Capcom Spotlight—I was like, glued to my seat waiting to see some real action. But nah, they gave us a lot more chit-chat than zombie smashing. I mean, come on!
So, instead of a big gameplay reveal, we got a bunch of developers chatting away, classic talking heads style. Not exactly what I thought we were signing up for. But hey, they did spill some beans. Turns out our new lead, Grace, is connected to the Ashcroft family from that old Resident Evil Outbreak series. Who’da thought, right?
Capcom’s shifting things away from the Winters family arc. They’re diving back into the whole Raccoon City chaos, probably because it’s the big 3-0 for the series. Got Raccoon City on the brain for nostalgia’s sake or something.
Now, about why Leon’s not the star—kind of makes sense when you think about it. They wanted someone who’d freak out more easily, and let’s face it, Leon’s been through too much zombie madness to be scared by anything at this point. Grace, on the other hand, she’s fresh to it all. She’s kind of an everyman… uh, every-woman? You get the idea. An FBI agent who’s good with guns but still gets the heebie-jeebies. Balance, right?
Oh, and a quick shout about gameplay—Capcom’s letting you tackle the game in first or third-person. Apparently, people pick one and stick with it, so why not have both? Makes sense, I guess… maybe too much sense.
Circle your calendars or whatever, ‘cause Resident Evil Requiem’s dropping February 27, 2026, for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S. Time flies when you’re dodging undead creatures, I suppose.
