Okay, so here we go. Less than a week since Meta dropped this shiny new Quest 3S Xbox Edition. And guess what? Already outta stock if you’re hitting up Meta directly. Wild, right? But—hold up—a few other stores still have some lurking around.
Meta, in their infinite marketing wisdom or something—said it was “extremely limited.” Like, blink and you’ll miss it. So yeah, if you find it gone on Meta (US & UK both, mind you), it’s kinda a toss-up whether demand’s off the charts or if they just didn’t bother stocking much. Who knows? Maybe both. Maybe neither.
Yet, oh the joy—we’ve got Best Buy hangin’ in there Stateside, and in the UK, Argos and EE are your friends. But even Xbox is like, “Hey, check Meta,” so who’s really keeping count? Could they really not anticipate the hype, or maybe the scalpers have dived in hard? (Hello, eBay, my old friend.)
Function-wise, nada difference from the normal Quest 3S. Same guts, different glory—as in, a splash of unique paint, an Xbox controller tossed in the mix, and three months to mess around with Xbox Game Pass Ultimate. Cool cloud gaming stuff, but sorry, not every Xbox game’s gonna fit in that box.
If you’re already a Quest 3S person and got an Xbox controller lying around? Boom, you’re set. No bundle needed for that cloud gaming jazz. But if you love a good deal, this bundle’s clocking in at $400, saving you $75 compared to buying all the bits separate. Math is hard, but discounts are real.
Remember ages ago, back in 2016? Microsoft teased us with this “high fidelity VR” for Xbox. Yeah, that’s still a pipe dream. Closest we’ve got is this setup. Truth be told, if you’re hoping to dive into VR with Halo or whatever, you might want to temper expectations—it’s all flatscreen.
Still, cool option to have, right? Future-wise, maybe we’ll get that sweet 3D pop in our Xbox games one day. Silent prayers.
Oh! Quick sidebar: We flubbed a price earlier, calling the bundle’s value $415. Whoops! Actually, it’s $475. Math wasn’t my strongest subject. Cheers for the heads-up.
