Alright, so get this. Arrowhead Game Studios dropped a bombshell on us—yeah, like, just out of nowhere. So apparently, come August 26, 2024, they’re unleashing their big kahuna, Helldivers 2, onto the Xbox Series X. Wild, right? “Gamers have been begging us for ages, and we’re thrilled to expand our Helldivers universe. Seriously, more players means more stories to dive into!” That’s what Mikael Eriksson, the Game Director guy, blurted out on Xbox Wire. I mean, there’s gotta be more juicy stuff cooking, right? Or they’re just teasing us. Who knows.
So, Microsoft’s kinda been chill about letting some of its Xbox-only games roam free—think Indiana Jones and Hi-Fi Rush. But Sony? Man, they’re usually tight about their first-party playground. Except, you know, MLB: The Show. That one’s the oddball. And now Helldivers 2 is crashing the Xbox party. It’s like, is Sony testing the waters here? Maybe starting some kind of new strategy? Or just a one-off thing? Guess we’ll have to wait and see. Oh, and cross-play is a thing, so, no need to fret about which console you’ve pledged allegiance to. Wild times, folks. Wild times!
