Wait, okay, so here’s what happened. Nintendo of Canada just casually dropped a bombshell. They’re hiking up the prices for the OG Nintendo Switch and all the stuff that goes with it. Why? Well, they just said “market conditions.” Sounds vague, right? We’ll have to see how this plays out on August 1, 2025, when they update their Canadian My Nintendo Store.
I mean, they basically said, “Hey, prices for everything in the original Switch lineup are going up.” We’re talking the OLED model, the Lite version, your favorite games, and yep, those cute little accessories too. Oh, and let’s not forget about the amiibo figures and Switch Online memberships—yep, those are getting pricier as well.
But here’s the kicker: this whole thing doesn’t touch the Nintendo Switch 2 at all. No changes in the price for that system or its extras. Why the split? Not a clue. Maybe they’re testing something out. Or maybe they just want to keep us guessing. Funny how these things work out, huh? Anyway, I’ll be keeping an eye on this, ’cause who doesn’t want to know how deep we’ll need to dig into our wallets for some good old Mario adventures.
