So, Let’s Talk About These New Action Figures…
Alright, so Kaiyodo just dropped some news that made my inner child squeal a bit. They’re rolling out a shiny new series of action figures connected to Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater. Oh man, this is where Naked Snake, The Boss, and Ocelot get tiny plastic versions of themselves—no clue when they’re coming out though. Not a peep on that yet.
Wait, What’s the Story Here Again?
First off, a little detour into some background for you. Kaiyodo’s the genius behind these Revoltech figures—everyone’s raving about the articulation or something… revolver joints, they call it? Fancy stuff. It’s a Japanese company, kinda big into Godzilla merch too. Being a company staple, Revoltech dishes out these collectible masterpieces, and fans of Metal Gear Solid Delta are in for, probably, a treat.
Now, for those who maybe snoozed through 2004, Delta’s a remake of Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater. It’s a prequel and features our man, Naked Snake, doing spy things and trying to stop some Soviet mega-weapon. As a bonus, this remake teased snazzier graphics with a new intro song. That movie? Totally hyping the August 28 release, while fans are already window-shopping the action figures.
The Figures—A Slight Obsession?
Announced over on social media, these new figures are like fan service incarnate. Kaiyodo actually started with Metal Gear Solid 2’s Snake Figma last year. But now, it’s all about the Snake Eater lineup: Naked Snake, The Boss, and, of course, Ocelot. Kaiyodo casually snuck out a new character every day last week, but alas, the elusive pre-order release window is still a mystery. Why do they do this to us?
Anyway, the fanbase? Yeah, they’re loving it. One dude on Twitter (kinda missing the old days) said it’s like a nostalgia bomb, all thanks to this remake. Some folks are holding out for statues by Gecco though. Picky, much? And, of course, there are the Revoltech skeptics complaining about pre-order bonuses. Oh, and did you know they’ve got figures from Ninja Gaiden characters too—Ryu Hayabusa, Ayane, Kasumi? It’s like an action figure bonanza!
And the Game Itself…
For the game part, Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater isn’t holding back. It’s got all those epic upgrades from the original—how about a quick camo system? Or shooting over-the-shoulder? Plus, classic CQC and the Codec system are sticking around. Just when you thought it couldn’t get better… yeah, the Snake vs Monkey mode is back. Because what is life without seeing a snake fighting a monkey?
Alright, if you made it this far, thanks for sticking around! Feels good to ramble about some cool toy news every once in a while, right?
